Boomerang offers a complete range of Semi-Premium and American Petroleum Institute (API) premium certified thread types including buttress thread casing (BC), long round thread casing (LC), and short round thread casing (SC) thread types. All our API connections meet or exceed API specifications, and our manufacturing facilities are API 5CT licensed. Our Houston, Texas facility is also ISO 9001 and API Q1 certified while our Liberty, Texas location is API 5L licensed. We provide API threading of OCTG in the following sizes: ERW casing OD dimensions from 4.5” OD to 9.625” and tubing in 2.375” and 2.875″ OD dimensions.
Boomerang utilizes high speed PMC threaders, and Mori Seiki threading machines to produce API threads that conform to API Specification API 5B, “Specification for Threading, Gauging, and Thread Inspection of Casing, Tubing, and Line Pipe Threads.” We produce two predominant types of threads: API 8-round and API Buttress threads.
Boomerang’s threading process ensures that our threading complies with all API requirements including crest diameter, thread height, lead, taper, stand-off, and thread length. We also visually inspect the threads for any machining irregularities or damage to the threads.
U. S. Steel’s improved buttress tubing offers a tight hydraulic seal, handles extremely high axial thrust, and withstands high–pressure conditions frequently found at oil drilling sites. The knurled make–up marking on the tubing promotes easier, more accurate position make–up and faster running of the tubing in the well. The flat crests and roots parallel to the pipe axis also foster fast make–up and reduced cross–threading and give the improved buttress tubing excellent stabbing characteristics. Phosphate–coated coupling threads resist galling and corrosion in storage.
